What started as a simple desire to make brittle for their loved ones during the holidays, turned into a successful business venture for Jennifer and Eric. Jennifer, who has a penchant for spice, decided to experiment with a new take on the classic Jalapeno brittle, opting instead for a sweet heat brittle with Cayenne pepper. After receiving rave reviews from local patrons, the couple was encouraged by the establishment owner to start selling their creation. Fast forward two years and hundreds of batches later, SaddleUp Brittle now offers over 12 varieties of brittle, along with seasonal barks, all of which can be found weekly at the New Braunfels Farmers Market and Alamo Heights Farmers Market.
